Wellness Packages were launched in the INTO Learning Centre, Parnell Square, autumn 2015. The 3 week packages consisted of experiential workshops and were a great opportunity for those of us in attendance to prioritize our health and wellbeing. The Thursday afternoons provided a much needed pause in our busy week. Feeling nourished, we floated into work on Fridays having dropped some of our stress and tension.
What is Wellness?
While Health is the absence of illness, injury or disease, Wellness is the pursuit of optimal health. It requires making a commitment, setting the intention and focusing on goals. A wellness-oriented lifestyle encourages you to adopt habits and behaviours that promote better health and an improved quality of life. It also involves the recognition that you have a responsibility to nurture the different aspects of your being – the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual. Ultimately, you are the driver of your own wellness plan and it can be quite difficult to navigate and stay on track.
Wellness Packages
The Wellness Packages provide a safe and supportive environment for educators. Mindfulness techniques, practical tools and resources are offered to help with every step of the wellness journey. Many benefits can arise, including improved sleep and more energy leading to fuller lives both at work and at home.
I look forward to the opportunity of running the Wellness Packages for Educators in the future. Finally, to all who have journeyed with me over the years, enjoy the final term of school, stay well and rest up and recalibrate during the weekends
